I have been teaching for 12 years in public schools: Five years at the elementary level and seven years at the middle school level. I currently teach 8th grade math to students from all levels and all programs including special education, gifted and talented, and limited English proficient.

The idea of a $100 laptop is very seductive. I'm just not sure that given current technology how durable such a device would be in a "real world" educational setting.
I'm looking forward to seeing the final product.
